Types of Consultation Appointments with Nikki
Do you want Nikki to answer your Costa Rica trip-planning questions or help you formulate an efficient travel itinerary for your Costa Rica trip? Nikki offers two types of paid consulting services: 60-Minute Online Live Chat (Typing) Appointments and 1-Email Appointments.
60-Minute Online Live Chat (Typing) Appointment
Online Live Chat Appointments provide an opportunity to chat privately with Nikki (via typing, not over the telephone or video chat) so you can get answers to your Costa Rica travel-related questions. This service type is booked per 60-minute block. With this option, you’ll meet Nikki on this webpage (no account or login required) at our scheduled appointment time and Nikki will devote the following 60 minutes to assisting you/your family. So, if you book a 10:00am appointment, you’ll be able to chat with Nikki until 11:00am.
Included with a 60-Minute Online Live Chat (Typing) Appointment with Nikki:
- A full hour to ask Nikki questions of your choosing that pertain to Costa Rica travel
- Nikki’s responses to your questions
- a copy of the chat transcript, and, if applicable, a brief follow-up email from Nikki containing resources referenced during the chat and/or explanations that weren’t covered during the chat.

1-Email Appointment
Email/Voice Message Appointments invite Nikki to answer your Costa Rica travel-related questions via email. This service type is booked per email. With this option, you’ll submit your Costa Rica questions/comments to Nikki at the time of booking the appointment and Nikki will formulate a lengthy email response, which will be sent to you by the scheduled appointment time. There is no need for you to be available during the scheduled appointment time; the appointment simply determines the time of day that Nikki will email you. So, if you book a 10:00am appointment, you can expect to receive Nikki’s email at 10:00am. (Emails may take a few minutes to send, so be aware that your email may arrive a few minutes after the scheduled appointment time.)
Included with a 1-Email/Voice Message Appointment with Nikki:
- A lengthy email response from Nikki (emails average between 4,000-7,000 words) that provides thorough answers to your questions, recommendations, sample itineraries (if applicable), and/or additional resources, such as links to referenced businesses or services.

Choosing between
Live Chat (Typing) Appointments and Email Appointments
Online live chat appointments provide an opportunity to correspond (via typing) with Nikki in live time. They tend to work best when travelers have already started planning their trip to Costa Rica and have a list of questions that can be answered with relatively short answers (e.g., What route is best to take when traveling between A and B, and why?, Which tour is better, C or D, and why?, If you were looking for E, would you visit F or G, and why?, How would you fill this free day on my itinerary?, etc.), allowing for a rapid-fire Q&A session.
Email appointments tend to be the better option for first-time Costa Rica visitors, travelers who have just embarked on the trip-planning journey, and/or travelers who are in need of in-depth help, including assistance with building an itinerary from scratch. Broad questions like How many days should I spend in Costa Rica?, Where should I go in Costa Rica?, How should I order the destinations of A, B, and C on my itinerary?, and How should I schedule D, E, and F activities during my trip? typically require lengthy responses, which are best answered over email because they can quickly eat up several minutes of live chat time.
The above said, I’m happy to accommodate your preference of appointment type regardless of the type of help you need and where you’re currently at with your vacation planning.
